Lee Hyun-Joo

Ha Eun-Hye
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of difficulties in emotional regulation on the relationship between the affect-intensity and smartphone addiction. The participants comprised 625 middle school students from the Daegu areas. The subjects were initially assessed by means of the Test of Affect Intensity Measure(AIM), the Smartphone Addiction Proneness Scale and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale(DERS). The results indicated that the total score of difficulties in emotional regulation and the six sub factors identified worked as a partial mediating effect between the affect intensity and smartphone addiction. This study confirmed the partially mediating effects of difficulties in emotional regulation on the relationship between affect intensity and smartphone addiction of middleschool students.
